Description
Selkirk Signs is looking for a Designer to join our in-house Design Team in Cranbrook, BC. You'll work across a wide variety of large-format and architectural signage projects, from safety signage and retail graphics to wayfinding systems, dimensional lettering, and custom fabricated signs. You’ll collaborate closely with our Project Management and Business Development teams to bring client visions to life.

Experience in the sign industry is an asset, but not a requirement - we're excited to teach the production piece to the right person.
What You'll Do
- Design across a broad range of sign types. From concept presentations to production-ready files, in close partnership with Project Management, Business Development and Manufacturing.
- Recreate and vectorize client-supplied artwork when quality files aren't available.
- Learn and apply sign manufacturing best practices so your designs are buildable, not just beautiful.
- Help uphold Selkirk's standards for quality, accuracy, and customer experience at every stage of a project.
- Represent the Selkirk brand professionally in all client-facing design work.
What We're Looking For
Required:
- Proven experience as a Designer or similar role.
- Strong proficiency in Adobe Illustrator.
- Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign).
- Sharp eye for detail and solid colour/typography fundamentals.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Strong communicator as you'll be working with our PM team regularly.
- Self-motivated; comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
Nice to Have:
- Background in large-format, signage, or print production.
- Experience with sign-specific software (FlexiSign), and 3D software (Sketchup, Rhino, Blender, etc.).
- File prep and prepress experience.

Additional information:
- Wage: $25.00-31.00/hr, depending on experience.
- Hours: 8:00am – 5:00pm, Monday - Friday. Occasional overtime as required.
- Location: In office, Cranbrook BC.
- Benefits: Full benefit package after completing probationary period.
- Retirement: GRSP matching and ESOP participation available after 1 year.
- Breaks: 1 hr unpaid lunch + two 20 min paid breaks.
